Texas Instruments to acquire GO DSP

Digital signal processor designers at Texas Instruments in Dallas intend to expand their software offerings and offer complete end-to-end DSP design services with the purchase of GO DSP Corp. of Toronto. TI officials, who over the past few years have bolstered their software expertise with the purchase of companies such as Tartan Inc. of Monroeville, Pa., is acquiring GO DSP`s flagship tools called Code Composer and Code Explorer, which are integrated tools intended to enable DSP system developers to improve productivity and reduce time to market. GO DSP`s technology ostensibly will complement TI`s DSP performance and extend the ease of use of TI`s DSP devices. - J.K.
