Engineers at ILC Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., are introducing their ruggedized BU-65527 intelligent interface between dual-redundant MIL-STD 1553A/B Notice 2 serial data buses and parallel VME and VXI data buses. Software controls the operation of each independent channel as a 1553 bus controller, remote terminal, or bus monitor terminal. This conduction-cooled device meets environmental specifications for many military and aerospace applications. It implements each dual-redundant 1553 interface through the use of DDC`s BU-61586 advanced communications engine (ACE). Users can configure the interface with one, two, three, or four ACE components, which makes it possible to interface with as many as four independent 1553 buses. For more information, contact DDC`s Steve Friedman by phone at 516-567-5600, ext. 7381, by fax at 516-567-7358, or on the World Wide Web at http://www.ilcddc.com/. - J.K.
