Engineers at GreenSpring Modular I/O of Meno Park, Calif., are unveiling their IPPC-2636 6U VME carrier board to provide I/O solutions for the Motorola MVME2600 and MVME3600 PowerPC processor boards. The IPPC-2636 holds as many as four IndustryPack mezzanine cards to deliver 200 I/O lines per VME slot. The new GreenSpring carrier board plugs into the PCI expansion connector on the Motorola processor boards, and the two boards slide into a VME chassis as a two-slot unit. This enables a PMC card to plug into the standard PMC connectors on the processor board while using the IPPC-2636 to hold as many as four additional I/O mezzanine cards without using the VME bus.
