Officials of Matrix Corp. in Raleigh, N.C., are introducing Pentium-based 3U and 6U VME single-board computers for rugged embedded applications. The Pentx boards are designed around a hybrid module that combines the P54C Pentium microprocessor and a PicoPower Vesuvius support chipset, which provides a PCI interface. Each single- and multi-slot board can support Pentium processors as fast as 133 MHz, a 64-bit SVGA graphics accelerator, and as much as 64 megabytes of enhanced-data-out dynamic rand
