HANSCOM AFB, Mass., 21 June 2005. U.S. Air Force officials are looking to the Honeywell Inc. Defense & Space Systems unit in Redmond, Wash., to provide anti-collision systems for the C-130 turboprop utility aircraft.
Honeywell Defense & Space is providing 75 Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) TPS-81A processors, 131 TCAS Mode S/IFF control panels, 85 TCAS AN/APX-119/RT-1853 Mode S/IFF digital transponders without encryption, 75 TCAS displays, and 100 TCAS antennas for the C-130 system program.
Honeywell is doing the work under terms of a $12.1 million contract awarded June 15 from the Air Force Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. The contract number is F19628-02-D-0014. Work is to be finished by November.
