CHELMSFORD, Mass, 16 June 2005. Mercury Computer Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., signed an agreement to purchase SOHARD AG in Fuerth, Germany, for approximately 19 million Euros, or $23.2 million.
Mercury designs and manufacturers multiprocessor high-speed digital signal and image processing computer systems for military and aerospace applications, medical imaging, and communications.
SOHARD AG is a developer of software solutions for medical imaging systems, hardware and firmware for commercial embedded systems, and software intelligence applications via professional services.
The acquisition, which is subject to certain closing conditions, is expected to close in the third quarter of calendar 2005.
