3U VPX embedded computing Ethernet switch for radar, sonar, and imaging introduced by GE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., 19 Oct. 2015. GE Intelligent Platforms in Huntsville, Ala., is introducing the NETernity GBX411 managed 3U VPX embedded computing layer 2/3 Ethernet switch for surveillance, reconnaissance, radar, sonar, and imaging applications.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., 19 Oct. 2015. GE Intelligent Platforms in Huntsville, Ala., is introducing the NETernity GBX411 managed 3U VPX embedded computing layer 2/3 Ethernet switch for surveillance, reconnaissance, radar, sonar, and imaging applications.

The embedded computing data switch for vetronics, avionics, and shipboard electronics applications offers combinations of Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.

The GBX411 supports precision time protocol (1588), and uses GE's OpenWare switch management software. It has capabilities for Multicast, Quality of Service, VLANs, and differentiated Services. OpenWare also can be customized. Supported access methods include Telnet, SSH, serial console, SNMP and a Web interface.

The switch also responds to security with its access control, authorization and declassification features. It also complies with the U.S. Army's VICTORY initiative and specifications for an Ethernet switch is built in to the GBX411's capabilities.
