Air Force names 19 IT companies to share as much as $7.9 billion for NETCENTS-2 network operations

MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala., 18 May 2015. U.S. Air Force information technology experts are adding 19 companies to the massive Network-Centric Solutions-2 (NETCENTS-2) under terms of contracts cumulatively worth as much as $7.9 billion announced Friday.
MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala., 18 May 2015. U.S. Air Force information technology experts are adding 19 companies to the massive Network-Centric Solutions-2 (NETCENTS-2) under terms of contracts cumulatively worth as much as $7.9 billion announced Friday.

Officials of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex, Ala., announced the companies that will be suppliers for the three-year NETCENTS-2 network operations and infrastructure solutions contract.

NETCENTS-2 is a set of five categories of contract capabilities spanning netcentric products, network operations and infrastructure solutions, applications services, enterprise integration and service management, and information technology professional services.

The 19 new NETCENTS-2 contractors will compete over the next three years for orders that will total as much as $7.9 billion. The 19 companies named Friday are:

-- General Dynamics Information Technology Inc. in Needham, Mass.;
-- Harris IT Services Corp. in Herndon, Va.;

-- IBM U.S. Federal in Reston, Va.;
-- LGS Innovations LLC in High Point, N.C.;

-- NextiraOne Federal LLC, doing business as Black Box Network Services, in Herndon, Va.;

-- Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) in McLean, Va.;
-- SRA International Inc. in Fairfax, Va.;
-- Telos Corp. in Ashburn, Va.; and
-- URS Federal Services Inc. in Germantown, Md.

These contractors will provide a wide range of services and solutions that support existing legacy infrastructure, networks, systems, and operations, as well as evolving the infrastructure, networks, systems, and operations to comply with the Air Force enterprise architecture, Air Force officials say.

It is the network operations contract for Air Force users as well as other U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and federal agencies. This contract is the mandatory source for all Air Force units purchasing services that fall under the scope of the contract.
