NASHUA, N.H., 21 Dec. 2016. Rugged data storage experts at Phoenix International in Orange, Calif., have received a gold award in the 2016 Military & Aerospace Electronics and Intelligent Aerospace Technology Innovation Awards for the company's rugged RPC24 Raid Array data storage system.
The award to the Phoenix RPC24 data storage system is part of the middle of three tiers of this year's Technology Innovation Awards. The top award level is platinum, the middle tier is gold, and the third tier is silver.
Military & Aerospace Electronics and Intelligent Aerospace made awards to company entries that offer solutions to difficult aerospace and defense electronics design challenges. The awards were presented on 14 Nov. 2016.
The Phoenix RPC24 supports TCG compliant and FIPS 140-2 certified AES 256 encryption as well as instant secure erase when configured with solid-state disks and hard disk drives with these capabilities.

Data security is a key component to any mass storage application and has been brought to the general public’s awareness. For deployed military applications, data security has always been a concern and this data storage device helps make data-at-rest security more efficient and affordable, Phoenix officials say.
The Phoenix RPC24 4004 series data storage system has self-encrypting drive (SED) technology, with TCG compliant and FIPS 140-2 certified AES 256 encryption and instant secure erase when configured with solid state disks and hard disk drives with these capabilities.
The drive has configurations for 2.5-inch solid-state drives and 2.5-inch hard disk drives. Featuring a storage capacity of at least 50 terabytes, the RPC24 4004 series includes two removable magazines containing as many as 12 solid state disk or hard disk drives.
Phoenix International's incorporated SimulCache technology leverages redundant RAID controllers to eliminate the performance degradation of conventional cache mirroring. A dedicated PCI-Express bus streamlines write performance and minimizes downtime and data loss.
