BOHEMIA, N.Y., 5 April 2016. North Atlantic Industries (NAI) in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing the 75PPC1-FT3-AR1 Quad-core Power PC, 3U CompactPCI COTS single-board computer for military and avionics applications that require high density communications and performance in SWaP-constrained embedded computing environments.

The 75PPC1-FT3-AR1 is powered by NXP’s 1.2 GHz Quad QorIQ P2041 PowerPC processor, and is configured with quad channel, dual redundant, MIL-STD-1553B, and 12-channel ARINC 429/575 Tx/Rx communications bus ports.

This 3U CompactPCI rugged computer board leverages NAI’s modular COTS products built on an open systems architecture (COSA) allowing technology insertion, and conforms to open standards.

The board includes MIL-STD-1553B (FT3) quad-channel, dual redundant, balanced-line physical layer; a differential network interface; time division multiplexing; half-duplex command/response protocol, and up to 31 remote terminals per channel designed for use with rugged and commercial avionics applications.

The board also has as many as 12 programmable ARINC 429/575 transmit and receive channels for air-data information for displays, autopilots, and other flight controls and instrumentation on commercial and military aircraft.

In addition, the 75PPC1-FT3-AR1 supports as much as 8 gigabytes of DDR3L SDRAM; as much as 32 gigabytes SATA II NAND Flash; two Gigabit Ethernet ports; Wind River Linux or VxWorks; operation in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius; conduction- and air-cooled versions; and continuous background built-in-test.
