Military and industry IndustryPack carrier card linking I/O to PCI Express introduced by Acromag

WIXOM, Mich., 26 June 2011. Acromag in Wixom, Mich., is introducing the APCe8650 IndustryPack (IP) carrier card for linking I/O mezzanine modules to PCI Express embedded computing systems in high-performance defense, industrial, and scientific research systems that require high-density I/O. The carrier cards route power and interface bus signals to four plug-in IP modules through the PCI Express card slot connector for rapid data throughput. By mixing as many as four industrial I/O modules on the carrier from Acromag or other vendors, developers can create custom I/O boards for PCI Express-based computers.

The carrier cards route power and interface bus signals to four plug-in IP modules through the PCI Express card slot connector for rapid data throughput.By mixing as many as four industrial I/O modules on the carrier from Acromag or other vendors, developers can create custom I/O boards for PCI Express-based computers. Extended-temperature versions are available that operate in temperatures from -40 85 degrees Celsius. The carrier card resides in memory space and supports IP module I/O, ID, INT, and MEM spaces, Acromag officials say. IP module register and data access is provided for configuration or control of the I/O modules through software. Plug-and-play carrier configuration supports two interrupt channels per IP module. A non-volatile ID register identifies the carrier.

The card also has supervisory circuit reset generation and individually filtered and fused power. Four 50-pin headers provide cable access for I/O signals. Software support includes VxWorks, Linux, and Windows. For more information contact Acromag online at www.acromag.com.
