Compact SATA solid-state memory system for aerospace and defense embedded computing introduced by Microsemi
PHOENIX, 7 Oct. 2011. The Microsemi Corp. Power and Microelectronics Group in Phoenix is introducing the MSM37 and MSM75 Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) solid-state data storage systems for embedded computing in secure aerospace and defense applications. The compact MSM37 and MSM75 are packaged as one 32-by-28-by-522-millimeter plastic ball grid array (PBGA) and provide as much as 75 gigabytes of NAND flash solid state storage. The devices are for applications where a 2.5-inch storage device is too large, Microsemi officials say. Security features include AES-128 encryption, self-destruct capability, and whole-module erase with push-button trigger option to meet requirements of mission-critical defense and aerospace applications.
