FRASER, Mich., 1 July 2008. K & F Electronics, a manufacturer of printed circuit boards, won a three-year contract with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to supply its Aeronautical Center with four different types of circuit boards.

Rick Kincaid, president and CEO, hopes that this federal contract is the first of many. "We have been trying to get our foot in the door for a while now. It is a learning process, to be sure, to learn how to monitor the government for contracting opportunities and to submit the required paperwork correctly."

Kincaid credits part of his success to his involvement with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) housed at Macomb Community College for helping him to understand the intricacies of government procurement.

"Actually, all our customers will benefit from our role as a government contractor," Kincaid continues. "There are certain processes we had to put into place to insure quality control. As a result, all of our jobs will receive the same treatment."
