Rugged handheld computer that operates in flammable gases and vapors introduced by Juniper Systems
LOGAN, Utah, 12 Nov. 2014. Juniper Systems in Logan, Utah, is introducing the Archer 2 Hazloc rugged handheld computer that is designed to perform safely in hazardous locations where flammable gases or vapors may be present.
The Class I, Division 2-certified handheld computer Archer 2 Hazloc has an IllumiView display that is viewable outdoors, 20 hours of battery life, is ultra-rugged, dustproof, waterproof, and shockproof, has GPS performance, a barcode scanner, and RFID-compatibility.
To ensure worker safety, OSHA requires that workers in some industries use only handheld PCs that have been certified Class I, Division 2 (CI, D2). Industries that require CI, D2-certified handhelds include various oil and gas applications, where work locations range from refineries to petrochemical plants, to oil rigs, and others. With the CI, D2 certification, the Archer 2 is certified to perform safely in these types of hazardous locations.
