Air Force names 10 NETCENTS-2 Application contractors to share $960 million in IT orders
MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala., 15 July 2014. U.S. Air Force information technology (IT) experts are choosing 10 companies to compete for a decade's worth of IT services contracts as part of the Network-Centric Solutions-2 (NETCENTS-2) Application Services program.
The 10 companies will compete for a pot of money worth $960 million over the next 10 years to provide IT services such as sustainment, migration, integration, training, help desk support, testing and operational support.
The awards were announced late Tuesday by officials of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex, Ala.
The winning companies in the NETCENTS-2 Application Services program are:
-- Lockheed Martin Corp. in Gaithersburg, Md.;
-- Jacobs Technology in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.;
-- SRA International Inc. in Fairfax, Va.;
-- L-3 National Security Solutions in Reston, Va.;
-- Raytheon Co. in Garland, Texas;
-- InfoReliance Corp. in Fairfax, Va.;
-- CACI-ISS Inc. in Chantilly, Va.;
-- Northrop Grumman Information Systems in Herndon, Va.;
-- General Dynamics Information Technology in Needham, Mass.; and
-- IBM Corp. in Reston, Va.
Other services the NETCENTS-2 Application Services contractors will provide include exposing data from authoritative data sources to support Web-services or service oriented architecture constructs in Air Force enterprise environments.

This contract vehicle is the mandatory source for all Air Force units purchasing services that fall under the scope of the contract. The NETCENTS-2 program also provides IT equipment and services to the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps., Department of Defense, and federal agencies.
Last fall the Air Force finalized 25 companies to provide NETCENTS-2 computer equipment. They are:

-- Ace Technology Partners LLC in Arlington Heights, Ill.;
-- CDW Government LLC in Vernon Hills Ill.;
-- CounterTrade Products Inc. in Arvada Colo.;
-- FedStore Corp. in Rockville Md.;
-- the General Dynamics Corp. Information Technology segment in Needham Mass.;
-- Intelligent Decisions Inc. in Ashburn Va.;

NETCENTS-2 is a potential $6.9 billion six-year multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract to provide the Air Force with a primary source of network-centric and IT products, services, and solutions. Use of the NETCENTS-2 contracts is mandatory for Air Force organizations.
NETCENTS-2 is a set of five categories of contract capabilities spanning network-centric products, network operations and infrastructure solutions, applications services, enterprise integration and service management, and information technology professional services.
Each of the 10 NETCENTS-2 Application Services contractors will receive $2,500 up front, and will compete for delivery orders as needed.
