COM Express embedded computing board introduced by Portwell for military COTS applications

American Portwell Technology Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is introducing the PCOM-B218VG Type VI compact size COM Express Basic embedded computing module for applications in COTS military, industrial control, portable devices, test equipment, and medical devices. The PCOM-B218VG single-board computer measures 95 by 95 millimeters, and comes with the Intel Atom processor N2000 and D2000 series, as well as the Intel NM10 Express chipset.

FREMONT, Calif., 18 Jan. 2012. American Portwell Technology Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is introducing the PCOM-B218VG Type VI compact size COM Express Basic embedded computing module for applications in military COTS, industrial control, portable devices, test equipment, and medical devices.

The PCOM-B218VG single-board computer measures 95 by 95 millimeters, and comes with the Intel Atom processor N2000 and D2000 series, as well as the Intel NM10 Express chipset. Also included is an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3600/3650 graphics engine to enhance 3D performance for media applications such as high-definition imaging.

The embedded computing board also has two display ports that support several DP/HDMI/DVI functions; one SO-DIMM socket to support as much as four gigabytes of DDR3 SDRAM; two SATA; and one Fast Ethernet.

Expansion is provided via the COM Express carrier board with four PCI Express x1, which can be configured to one PCI-Express x4, LPC interface, and high-definition audio interface, as well as a PCOM-C211 developer COM Express Type VI carrier board.
