SAN JOSE, Calif., 13 Dec. 2012. Stealth Computer Inc. in San Jose, Calif., is introducing the WPC-525F fanless rugged waterproof PC for industrial, marine, and outdoor applications in which ordinary computers will not survive, Stealth officials say.
The WPC-525F rugged computer is designed to survive liquids, chemicals, dust, and dirt intrusion and meets IP67/NEMA 6 environmental specifications. The rugged computer has no cooling fans; the internal microprocessor is passively cooled.
The rugged PC's chassis measures 10.15 inches wide by 6.22 inches deep by 2.04 inches high. Powering the computer is the Intel's D525 1.8 GHz dual-core microprocessor and solid-state drives that can withstand extremes in temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, and high altitudes.
Power, video, local-area networking, serial databus, and USB connectors are water-tight, locking bayonet styles typical of military hardware. The rugged PC operates from input power ranging from 6 to 36 volts DC for use in mobile, marine, field, and transportation applications.
Systems are compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, XP, and Linux, and can be custom configured. The WPC-525F has integrated VESA mounting holes.
