ASHBURN, Va., 4 Oct. 2012. Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions in Ashburn, Va., is introducing a multi channel synchronized digital data recorder for demanding defense and aerospace applications such as instrumentation recording, mission recording, signals intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic intelligence (ELINT).

The Vortex multi-channel synchronized recorder is a turn-key streaming data recorder system that uses time stamping to deliver synchronized playback of several I/O channels.

Vortex records in various protocols such as serial FPDP, Gigabit Ethernet, and 10-Gigabit Ethernet. The Vortex also enables the synchronous starting and stopping of all data channels simultaneously and provides time alignment between each at playback.

The scalable system has off-the-shelf 1U controllers with internal rotating or solid-state removable data storage in rugged and laboratory environments.

The Vortex features a proprietary data capture hardware system that captures incoming data frames. Configuration and control us via a command line interface that provides commands including record control, file management, disk management, NFS configuration and system configuration.
