LETCHWORTH, England, 20 Aug. 2009. Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing in Letchworth, England, is introducing the video processingPMC-281 MPEG4/H.264 high-definition video compression / video capture card. The rugged conduction-cooled PMC card is for demanding military tactical video applications that involve video distribution and/or video recording in applications such as military situational awareness.

The PMC-281 supports two channels of MPEG4/H.264 video compression at resolutions as fine as 1920 by 1080 pixels facilitating the distribution of several channels of high-definition video over standard Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) networks and storage on modestly-sized media.

Its industry-standard PMC form-factor enables it to be rapidly deployed in a variety of system types such as PCs, rack-mount systems and conduction-cooled enclosures.

The PMC-281 is supported on Intel x86 and Power Architecture hosts under Windows, Linux, and VxWorks operating environments. For more information contact Curtiss-Wright online at www.cwcembedded.com.
