SANTA BARBARA, Calif., 1 March 2006. Green Hills Software, Inc. in Santa Barbara, Calif., is offering the Multi integrated development environment (IDE) and Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS) for DaVinci technology from Texas Instruments Inc. (TI).

Developed in partnership with TI, the tools and operating system are for TI's multicore TMS320DM644x processors based on DaVinci technology -- the collection of a digital signal processor (DSP)-based system-on-chip, integrating DSP and ARM cores, accelerators, peripherals, third-party support, software, and tools for digital video and audio.

Multi for DaVinci technology integrates the ARM compiler from Green Hills with TI's Code Composer Studio integrated development environment compiler for TI's TMS320C64x+ core. This means that Multi alone can support the DM644x processors, which integrate an ARM core and TI's C64x+ DSP core.

Multi supports advanced kernel and OS-aware debugging for Green Hills Software's Integrity and velOSity RTOS as well as Linux for DaVinci technology. For TI's C64x+ core, Multi is integrated with TI's DSP/BIOS real-time kernel, including support for full DSP/BIOS kernel awareness from Multi.
