GREENVILLE, S.C., 2 March 2006. Engineers at Lockheed Martin Services Inc. in Greenville, S.C., are set to build electronic warfare systems to protect the U.S. Marine Corps KC-130J aerial refueling aircraft.
Lockheed Martin won a $7.1 million order March 1 for five defensive electronics countermeasures (DECM) kits and installation of two kits on the KC-130J in-service aircraft. The KC-130J can refuel fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters while in flight.
Work will be in Greenville, S.C., and should be finished in February 2008. Awarding the order was the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md.
