ST. LOUIS, 21 June 2006. LaBarge Inc. has received a $1.7 million contract from Northrop Grumman Corporation's Defensive Systems Division to produce circuit card assemblies for the AN/ALQ-135 radar jammer system. The company expects to receive follow-on orders on the program.

The AN/ALQ-135 is an internally mounted radar countermeasures system designed for the F-15K fighter aircraft. It can detect and jam enemy radar signals, such as radar used by short-range surface-to-air missiles, antiaircraft artillery, and airborne threats.

The jammer is part of the F-15 aircraft's tactical electronic warfare system, which includes a radar, radar jammer, warning receiver, and chaff/flare dispenser that work together to detect, identify, and counter threats posed by an enemy.

Production on this contract is expected to begin early this summer at LaBarge's Tulsa, Okla., facility and is expected to continue through fall 2006.
