CHIHUAHUA, Mexico, 13 Dec. 2006. Jabil Circuit in St. Petersburg, Fla., announced that its facility in Chihuahua, Mexico, has been certified to Aerospace AS9100 standard for electronic printed circuit board manufacturing.

The AS9100 is the aerospace industry's quality system standard developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group for quality assurance in design, new product introduction, manufacturing, and servicing.

"The AS9100 certification ensures that the Jabil Chihuahua facility meets the standards for quality, safety, and reliability; and positions our Chihuahua plant as a key supplier to the U.S. aerospace markets," says Bill Peters, Jabil's Americas president.

Many aerospace companies are turning to global electronics manufacturers like Jabil to manage non-core aspects of their operations, such as design, manufacturing, supply-chain management and reverse logistics," says Jim Cocke, head of Jabil's Aerospace & Defense sector.

Jabil Chihuahua is a one million square foot facility, located three hours from the U.S. border. With 2,300 employees it is one of Jabil's four facilities in Mexico.
