SeaMobile announces acquisition of European satellite provider Geolink

SEATTLE and PARIS, 18 Dec. 2006. SeaMobile Inc., a global provider of at-sea communications, connectivity, and content services has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Geolink, a provider of satellite-based broadband communications and networking services with experience serving the European market. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

SeaMobile Inc., a global provider of at-sea communications, connectivity, and content services has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Geolink, a provider of satellite-based broadband communications and networking services with experience serving the European market. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In May 2006, SeaMobile acquired satellite industry leader Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN). With the acquisition of Geolink, SeaMobile now provides broadband satellite, wireless voice and data, Internet connectivity, television, and other services for more than 300 maritime vessels throughout the world. Geolink significantly expands and strengthens SeaMobile's presence in the European market.

Geolink has developed a suite of solutions for land-based wireless communications. Geolink utilizes a partnership with the world's leading satellite networks (Inmarsat, Iridium, Eutelsat, and Intelsat) and selected Land Earth Stations to provide service to more than 150 countries throughout the world.
