ORLANDO, Fla., 4 April 2006. Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation (E&S) has received follow-on orders in the amount of $9.7 million by the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI) to update and provide additional visual systems for its Combined Arms Tactical Training (CATT) Programs.
The new orders call for an additional 221 EPX-50 systems with more than 1500 channels. More than 370 systems, which are composed of approximately 3000 PC-based visual channels, have already been fielded.
EPX-50 uses E&S's Environment Processor software with military extensions (EPX) and runs on standard PC hardware equipped with state-of-the-art commercially available graphics accelerators.
