IRVINE, Calif., 17 Aug. 2010. Advantech Embedded Core Services in Irvine, Calif., is introducing the AIMB-270 industrial gradeMini-ITXsmall form factor computer motherboard that supports Intel Core i7/i5/Celeron mobile processors with FCPGA 988 sockets. The graphics engine is integrated onto the processor chips, and includes Intel Dynamic Video Memory and Intel Clear Video technology.
Connectivity and expansion options for the AIMB-270 Mini-ITX motherboard include one PCI Express x16 expansion slot, six serial ports, four SATA II 300-megabyte-per-second connectors, eight USB 2.0 ports, dual display output with VGA, DVI, and LVDS display output interface options. AIMB-270 is capable of SATA RAID 0, 1, 5 & 10.
The Intel Turbo Boost Monitor application is a Microsoft Windows sidebar gadget that displays processor frequency and enables processor cores to run at the highest possible frequencies within their thermal limitations. Intel Hybrid multi-monitor enables an integrated graphics processing unit (GPU) to work together with a discrete GPU, which enables use of more than two independently driven displays. Mini-ITX is a 6.7-by-6.7-inch low-power motherboard that often can be cooled passively because of its low power consumption, and is useful for fanless applications in embedded computingand other uses.
AIMB-270 comes with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 software support, as well as dual PCI Express-based Gigabit Ethernet ports that move data as fast as 1,000 megabits per second. Software drivers and APIs include GPIO, SMBus, watchdog timer, hardware monitor, panel backlight on/off, and brightness control. Supported operating systems include Windows 7, Windows XP, XPEmbedded, Windows CE, and Linux.
