SAN JOSE, Calif, 23 Sept. 2010. ADLINK Technology Inc. in San Jose, Calif., is introducing extreme rugged commercial off the shelf (COTS) military computers, based on the Intel Core2 Duo and Atom N270 processors, for military embedded systems based on Intel microprocessor technology that require high reliability, long life cycles, and complete configuration control. The MilSystem 840 and the MilSystem 735 are built for use in harsh environments.
The MilSystem 735 and MilSystem 840 rugged embedded computers use extreme-rugged enclosures with fanless passive convection cooling to operate in temperatures from -40 to 75 degrees Celsius. MIL-STD-D38999 military-grade connectors are for mission critical applications in military, aviation, and transportation. These rugged computers are dust-proof, splash-proof, and designed to meet MIL-STD-810G military standards for operation under high shock and vibration.
The MilSystem 840 incorporates the Intel Core2 Duo L7500 1.6 GHz processor, as much as 4 gigabytes of DDR2 RAM, and supports CRTs, flat panels, and wide screen digital TVs at resolutions as fine as 2048 by 1536 pixels.
The MilSystem 735 is based on the Ampro by ADLINK LittleBoard 735 and has the power-efficient Intel Atom processor N270, as much as 2 gigabytes of DDR2 RAM, and Intel GMA 950 graphics core supporting display resolutions as fine as 2048 by 1536 pixels at 75 Hz.
The rugged computers come with Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP Professional pre-installed. Additional operating systems supported include Windows CE, QNX, and VxWorks. For more information contact ADLINK online at www.adlinktech.com.
