The electronic components company e2v Technologies plc in Saint-Egrève, France, is introducing the PC8349/E extended-reliability version of the MPC8349E 32-bit PowerQUICC II microprocessor from Freescale Semiconductor for computation-intensive aerospace and defence applications in communications, networking, and storage.

The electronic components company e2v Technologies plc in Saint-Egrève, France, is introducing the PC8349/E extended-reliability version of the MPC8349E 32-bit PowerQUICC II microprocessor from Freescale Semiconductor for computation-intensive aerospace and defence applications in military communications, tactical networking, and network-centric data storage.

The PC8349/E has an PowerPC e300 embedded computing processor core that operates as fast as 667 MHz over the full military temperature range of -55 to 125 degrees Celsius. The PC8349/E comes in a TBGA 672 pin package, and is based on a system-on-chip (SoC) architecture manufactured on Freescale semiconductor's 130-nanometer CMOS process technology.
