TEMPE, Ariz., 17 June 2010. Emerson Network Power in Tempe, Ariz., is introducing the COMX-P2020 and COMX-P4080 COM Express small form factor-based modular single board computers powered by Freescale Semiconductor's multicore QorIQ processors. These computer boards are for embedded computing applications like automation controllers, security gateways, civil aeronautics, railway signaling/control equipment, renewable energy, storage servers, and enterprise routers.

The COMX-P2020 and COMX-P4080 single-board computer products bring Freescale QorIQ P2020 and P4080 multicore processors onto computer modules that incorporate the mechanical features and dimensions of COM Express. The COMX-P2020 computer board has two processor cores operating at 1.2 GHz, while the COMX-P4080 embedded computer has eight cores operating at 1.5 GHz.

The two CPU board products offer footprints of 95 by 95 millimeters for the COMX-P2020 and 95 by 125 millimeters for the COMX-P4080. A typical use case with the COMX-P2020 CPU board uses 12 Watts of power. The computer modules contain local bus, several I2C buses, DUARTs with flow-control, and IEEE 1588 clock signaling.

The COMX-P2020 and COMX-P4080 modules will support embedded operating systems from Green Hills Software, LynuxWorks, Mentor Graphics, QNX, and Wind River. For more information contact Emerson Network Power online at www.emerson.com.
