CHELMSFORD, Mass., 23 March 2007. TEK Microsystems Inc. of Chelmsford, Mass., is unveiling the Janus VXS circuit board that combines FPGA based DSP processing technology with seven channels of 16-bit, 500-megasample-per-second digital-to-analog conversion.
The 6U VME/VXS payload card provides seven channels of output in one VXS slot with this resolution. Janus VXS provides high-density processing/waveform generation for advanced signal-generation solutions for antenna array systems in applications such as radar, electronic warfare, and mobile communications.
The Janus VXS provides common, FPGA based back-end digital processing platforms with front end analog input modules. It offers seven channels of digital to analog conversion at 16 bit resolutions and 500 megasamples per second clock rate in a VXS Payload card form factor.
The D-A converters are linked into a Xilinx FPGA equipped with an advanced double data rate SDRAM memory architecture with a capacity of up to 5 gigabytes on one card.
The memory architecture supports storage of digitized or generated high resolution waveforms for replay through the D-A channels while the customer programmable FPGA also provides for advanced real time digital signal processing and triggering functionality to be implemented immediately prior to the D-A outputs.
