Comtech Telecommunications Corp. wins funding to field, support U.S. Army AN/TRC-170 terminals

MELVILLE, N.Y., 9 Nov. 2007. Comtech Telecommunications Corp.'s Orlando, Fla.-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems Inc., has received a $1.7 million increase in funding to its previously announced $4.3 million AN/TRC-170 engineering and support contract. The total funding for the engineering and support contract is now $6.5 million.

MELVILLE, N.Y., 9 Nov. 2007.Comtech Telecommunications Corp.'s Orlando, Fla.-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems Inc., has received a $1.7 million increase in funding to its previously announced $4.3 million AN/TRC-170 engineering and support contract. The total funding for the engineering and support contract is now $6.5 million.

Comtech Systems will provide services to support continued fielding of the U.S. Army's AN/TRC-170 terminals. These services will include the inspection and repair of the terminals, and installation of the recently purchased AN/TRC-170 modem upgrade kits. Comtech will also provide formal classroom and practical hands-on training for personnel operating the upgraded AN/TRC-170 terminals.

Comtech engineers will support Army field tests and network exercises. In addition, Comtech will modify two AN/TRC-170s to be used as training aides in the U.S. Army school at Fort Gordon, Ga.

The Army has also increased Comtech's scope of support to include engineering services on Department of Defense troposcatter systems other than AN/TRC-170.
