LynuxWorks offers real-time software for Curtiss-Wright single-board computers

SAN JOSE, Calif., 8 Oct. 2007. LynuxWorks Inc. in San Jose, Calif., is making its LynxOS 4.2 real-time operating system board support package (BSP) available for the rugged, conduction-cooled SVME/DMV-183 single-board computer (SBC) from Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing in Leesburg, Va.

It is the first POSIX-conformant and Linux-binary-compatible operating system to be ported on Curtiss-Wright's board, company officials say.

The LynxOS BSP is for real-time mission-critical applications provides open APIs, Linux ABI compatibility, POSIX conformance, networking features, increased RAM, integrated GNU tool chain, and Linux ABI.

The Curtiss-Wright SVME/DMV-183 offers two 64-bit PMC sites, one supporting 100 MHz PCI-X, and I/O such as Gigabit Ethernet, as many as six serial ports, as many as two 1553 channels, SCSI, serial ATA, and two USB 2.0 ports.
