CROISSY-BEAUBOURG, France, 15 July 2007. Cedip Infrared Systems in Croissy-Beaubourg, France, has been retained as a partner of the SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION competitiveness cluster, in order to develop innovative thermal imaging sensors.

The SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION Cluster, that was given a 'world-class' cluster label in July 2005, is positioned to master complex systems and key technologies (in optics, electronics and software) and to implement these systems in four growing target markets: Security & Defence, Telecommunications, Automotive & Transportation and System Design & Development Tools. The SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION Cluster brings together over 200 industrial, academic and institutional members from the Paris region that work in partnership on R&D projects.

Established earlier this year, the contract signed with Cedip Infrared Systems, which falls within the framework of the "Defence and Security" area will be to develop and supply militarized cameras & systems in partnership with large defence and security industrial organizations and research groups.

As a partner in these projects, Cedip Infrared Systems will call upon its expertise in the field of Infrared imaging and know-how in military sensor development to design and bring to market new innovative thermal IR imaging sensors. The project should begin in the 4th quarter 2007.
