Kontron commits to PICMG COM Express Standard with new, future releases

SAN JOSE, Calif. (ESC), 7 April 2007. Kontron executives showcased the Kontron ETXexpress-CD COM Express solution at the Embedded Systems Conference in Silicon Valley. This new variation of the Kontron ETXexpress-CD module represents the latest addition to the company's line of 100-percent COM Express-compliant products, says a company representative. And Kontron staffers plan to release more models before the end of the second quarter of this year.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (ESC), 7 April 2007. Kontron executives showcased the Kontron ETXexpress-CD COM Express solution at the Embedded Systems Conference in Silicon Valley. This new variation of the Kontron ETXexpress-CD module represents the latest addition to the company's line of 100-percent COM Express-compliant products, says a company representative. And Kontron staffers plan to release more models before the end of the second quarter of this year.

Built around the Intel processor and paired with the Mobile Intel 945 GM Express chipset/ICH7M Southbridge combination, the Kontron ETXexpress-CD is a fit for small embedded applications that are temperature and power sensitive.

Key features of the Kontron ETXexpress-CD module include:
• Intel Core 2 Duo (up to 2.2GHz) and Core Duo processors with the Intel 945 GM Express chipset
• Integrated GMA950 Graphics with dual-channel LVDS support, plus PCI Express graphics 1 x16 lanes
• Up to 2GB of dual-channel system memory
• Up to 5x PCI Express lanes, 8x USB 2.0, and 2x Serial ATA
• 10/100/1000 Ethernet for high-speed communications
• TPM and Phoenix BIOS Trusted Core for the highest level of system security

Kontron also announced that additional ETXexpress modules built around the Intel Core 2 Duo processor are under development and will be launched in the near future.
