FREMONT, Calif. – Elma Electronic Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is introducing the 3-slot FlexVNX+ development chassis for VNX+ VITA 90 modules to enable rapid board bring-up, validation, and testing of VNX+ plug-in cards.

The chassis enables embedded computing systems engineers to evaluate and integrate VNX+ VITA 90 payload modules quickly and effectively. The SOSA-aligned system also offers interoperability and future system upgrade paths.

The FlexVNX+ supports two payload slots (400-pin and 320-pin) and features a dedicated power supply slot and an internal power supply. The unit operates using 110/220 volts AC power, or an optional 28-volt DC power to support lab and deployed systems and testing.

Small form factors

VNX+ VITA 90 is a ruggedized compact high-performance computing small form factor (SFF) standard designed primarily for military and aerospace applications with strict size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints.

All I/O is accessible via the sidewalls of the development chassis to simplify connectivity and eliminate the need for mezzanine cards. A maintenance port aggregator provides access for diagnostics and debugging.

The airflow-optimized design of the FlexVNX+ incorporates internal fans to cool payload modules and eliminate the cost and complexity of conduction cooling. Optional 46.11 chassis management support is available.
