Silicon Designs Offers Flexible Packaging for Rugged, Low-Noise MEMS Accelerometers Models 2210, 2260, and 2266

May 2, 2025

For Immediate Release - Kirkland, WA, USA – Silicon Designs, Inc., a recognized global authority with over four decades of experience in designing and manufacturing precision MEMS DC accelerometers, has announced the continued availability of its Models 2210, 2260, and 2266, three single-axis MEMS accelerometer modules that share identical internal architecture but offer flexible packaging options to suit a wide range of industrial and embedded sensing applications.

All three models are optimized for zero-to-medium frequency vibration and motion measurement, delivering ultra-low noise, excellent long-term stability, and rugged performance across an extended temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. Built around the same hermetically sealed, low-noise MEMS sensing element, these plug-and-play modules are fully calibrated, serialized, and ready to deploy in high-demand test or OEM environments.

Form Factors for Any Application:

  • The Model 2210 features a traditional 1-inch square footprint with an integrated 10-foot shielded cable, ideal for lab setups and general-purpose test environments.
  • The Model 2260 offers the same internal performance in a smaller footprint with an integrated cable, perfect for space-constrained installations.
  • The Model 2266 uses the same compact footprint but includes a connector interface, allowing for custom cable lengths and easy repositioning in embedded systems.

Key Features:

  • Available in full-scale ranges from ±2 g to ±400 g
  • 10 μg/√Hz typical noise (±2 g versions)
  • Buffered ±4V differential or 0.5V to 4.5V single-ended outputs
  • Input voltage range: +8 to +32 VDC
  • Internal voltage regulation and reference for stable performance
  • Signal transmission over cable lengths up to 2,000 feet
  • Simple four-wire connection
  • Epoxy-sealed anodized aluminum housing, compatible with screw, adhesive, or magnetic mounting

Each unit is individually programmed, calibrated, and environmentally tested at Silicon Designs’ ISO9001:2015-certified headquarters near Seattle, Washington, ensuring consistent performance and traceability for mission-critical systems.

The 2210, 2260, and 2266 provide engineers with the freedom to choose the right mechanical configuration without compromising on sensor accuracy or environmental durability.

About Silicon Designs, Inc.

Founded in 1983, Silicon Designs set out to redefine the standard for MEMS DC accelerometer technology. At a time when industrial-grade accelerometers were often oversized, delicate, and prohibitively expensive, Silicon Designs pioneered solutions that were more compact, rugged, sensitive, and affordable, without compromising performance. The company has consistently grown while staying true to its core mission: delivering superior accelerometers built around the principles of “stronger, smaller, better, and more cost-effective,” all while letting customers guide product development. Silicon Designs is proud to remain a 100% veteran-owned U.S. small business.
