LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., September 2018– Optima Stantron, an Elma company, has successfully achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, the latest version of ISO 9001. NQA conducted the audit, certification and registration.
By achieving this updated certification, Optima has reconfirmed its ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest levels in its quality management system (QMS) throughout the company. Updates to the 2015 certification focus on risk management, customer satisfaction as well as a strong emphasis on leadership and commitment, communication and strategic alignment. It also incorporates many elements of the AS9100C certification, to which Elma’s Fremont, Calif. facilities have been certified since 2011.
Elma’s vice president of operations, Badri Rajan, notes, ”Even though we were certified to the previous standard, ensuring we stay aligned with current best practices in quality management is imperative to us. We’re proud of not only our quality team, but our entire organization, for meeting the requirements of this updated certification.“
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized standard that specifies the requirements for a QMS. This crucial system impacts a company at every level—from daily administrative operations to product development, marketing and sales through post-market customer service.
Tim Bretz, division manager for enclosures and cabinets, stresses, ”The message to our customers, current and future, is our commitment to them. Obtaining this updated certification reflects the ongoing importance we place on continuously improving the customer experience and delivering quality cabinets.“
Optima Stantron was first certified for ISO 9001 in 2004, when it demonstrated that it had in place an environment with qualified procedures, documentation and appropriate employee training. From there, the company consistently achieves the highest quality standard for its products.
The new certification, with its greater emphasis on customer satisfaction, allows Optima to improve its customer-centric approach to product development with a strong customer support focus. The upgraded 2015 regulations give Optima additional tools to provide enhanced customer service and support in even more ways.
