When your aircraft is stationed at an airport, it is the fixed-based operator (FBO) who can provide you with the services you need before your next operation. FBO organizations are most often located within, or near, the premises of the airport, though they are not directly affiliated with them. FBOs are provided the right by the airport to station themselves and provide aircraft with their services. In general, FBO services are directed for private aircraft, passengers, and their flight crews. While smaller airports may have one FBO, larger airports may feature several. In rural towns, FBO presence and services may be fulfilled by the town itself.
