Evans to supply console for FAA`s flight service program

U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials are choosing Evans Consoles Inc. of Calgary to supply specialized consoles for 61 FAA Automated Flight Service Stations (AFSS) and two additional sites. The console upgrades coincide with the FAA`s launch of the nationwide OASIS (Operational & Supportability Implementation System) program. The FAA awarded a base contract for three sites — Atlantic City, N.J., Seattle, and Miami. Five contract options may come into play over 36 months encompassing the remaining 60 AFSS sites. Last August Evans won a separate contract to furnish consoles for the Spirit of St. Louis AFSS — the first to install the specially designed Evans consoles in preparation for the OASIS program. OASIS will replace the automation system currently in use at all of the country`s Automated Flight Service Stations. The new program will provide networked flight service capabilities including weather graphics. For more information contact Evans by phone at 403-291-4444, by fax at 403-250-6549, by post at Evans Consoles Inc., 1930 Maynard Road SE, Calgary Alberta, Canada T2E 6J8, on the World Wide Web at http://www.evansonline.com/. — J.K.
