Honeywell unveils three-axis megnetoresistive sensors

Engineers at the Honeywell Solid State electronics Center in Plymouth, Minn., are offering a three-axis magnetoresistive sensor for applications that need orthogonal three-axis sensing such as compassing, navigation systems, attitude reference, virtual reality, traffic detection, proximity detection, and medical devices. The HMC1023 converts magnetic fields to a differential output voltage capable of sensing magnetic fields as low as 85 microgauss. It comes in a custom ball grid array, 1-millimeter pitch, 16-pin miniature package.
