DRS launches rugged flat panel display

Engineers at the DRS Electronic Systems Group in Gaithersburg, Md., are introducing their DFP 181/R 18.1-inch rugged digital flat panel display product line. These displays are SXGA resolution with 1,280-by-1,024-pixel-resolution liquid crystal displays designed to replace 19-inch cathode ray tubes. The new displays offer optional flicker-compensation circuitry, and meet MIL-STD-901D Grade A, MIL-STD 810E, MIL-STD-167, and MIL-STD-461D for shock, vibration, and electromagnetic interference. These displays, which DRS officials say are appropriate for aircraft, surface ships, and submarines, can be custom tailored or can fit in EIA-312-standard racks.
