Mini-Systems offers mil-quality resistors

Experts at the Thick Film Division of Mini-Systems Inc. of North Attleboro, Mass., have received life-failure-rate "S" for their MIL-PRF-55342 resistors from the Defense Supply Center Columbus in Columbus, Ohio. This rating means the Mini-Systems resistors have maximum failure rates of 0.001 percent per 1,000 unit hours. To receive the qualification, Mini-Systems officials demonstrated a minimum of 91.6 million hours of successful life testing without a failure. Engineers build the resistors with five-sided wraparound termination to improve reliability and ease surface-mount assembly.
