Motorola transfers transponder technology to Herley

Executives at the Motorola Space and Systems Technology Group in Scottsdale, Ariz., agreed to transfer some of their technological expertise to Herley Industries Inc. of Lancaster, Pa. Herley engineers will learn to manufacturer aircraft transponders, receivers, and modulators for several military programs, and will accept manufacturing responsibility on existing Motorola contracts, as well as royalty payments on product sales. Herley officials will use Motorola technology on products for the U.

Herley officials will use Motorola technology on products for the U.S. Navy F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet fighter-bomber, the Navy E-2C Hawkeye radar aircraft, and on the U.S. Air Force C-17 cargo jet.
