Lockheed Martin to upgrade A/0A-10 computers

U.S. Air Force leaders are choosing the Lockheed Martin Federal Systems division in Owego, N.Y., to upgrade the Low Altitude Safety and Targeting Enhancements computer and operational flight program on the A/OA-10 close-air-support jet. Lockheed Martin specialists also will integrate modifications to the venerable tank-killing aircraft involving software and support infrastructure, will develop new circuit cards and operational test systems, and will be the primary provider of sustaining engineering services over the next nine years. The maximum value of the Air Force contract is $488 million. - J.K.
