U.S. Airways chooses Emultek as simulation standard

Training experts at U.S. Airways of Arlington, Va., are choosing the Rapid Simulation 4 from Emultek Inc. of Herndon, Va., as their computer-based training simulation development standard for pilot training. Airline officials are starting a new aviation training approach called Advanced Qualification Program, and Rapid Simulation is helping them develop the new pilot ground training courseware. The new U.S. Airways program attempts to integrate computer simulations broadly into the airline`s training programs. Rapid simulations emulate many systems of the Boeing 737-300/400 jetliner. U.S. Airways officials say they believe increasing the amount of computer-based simulation in their training programs will help them save time and money. - J.K.
