Intelligent transport market to reach $17.1 billion

The total market value of intelligent transportation systems should increase from $1.6 billion this year to $17.1 billion 2003, says a new study called Advanced Transportation Industry Review from Business Communications Company Inc. of Norwalk, Conn. This rate of growth represents a 30 percent average annual growth rate over the next five years. By 2003, revenue from the commercial segment of vehicle and fleet systems should reach $5.2 billion, while revenue from the consumer segment of in-vehicle information systems should reach $8.3 billion, the study predicts.
