COTS conference set for February
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - The second annual Electronic Components for the Commercialization of Military and Space Systems conference will be Feb. 2 to 4 at the Waterfront Hilton Resort in Huntington Beach, Calif.
The conference focus is on providing experience and lessons learned relative to the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components and equipment in military systems, with an emphasis on pointing out where COTS is not always the most appropriate approach.
Components Technology Institute (CTI) Inc. of Huntsville, Ala., is sponsoring the conference, in cooperation with the IEEE and EIA.
A conference highlight will be a session keynote address about the use of COTS equipment in the Mars Pathfinder mission. Also included are about 25 exhibitors, as many as 50 technical paper presentations, and three discussion groups.
