U.S. Army engineers at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, Pa., are building 160 kits to integrate the Common Hardware/Software (CHS) computer system into soft-top vehicles such as the AM General High Mobility Multi-Wheeled Vehicle, better known as the HMMWV. CHS does data processing for the Air Defense Command Control Systems and the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System, and the Forward Area Air Defense system. Kits are standard racks, brackets, distribution and signal boxes with some electronics, and power cabling. Kits will go to the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky., and to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. For more information, phone Tobyhanna at 717-895-7308. - J.K.
