PHOENIX, Ariz., 18 March 2005. Honeywell announced today that it has signed an agreement with Warner Robins Air Logistics Center for maintenance, spare parts and engineering for the automatic test systems used for avionics maintenance on F-15 aircraft.
The contract is valued at up to $457 million over nine years.
The contract is part of an Air Force supply chain overhaul to improve readiness and reduce the total cost of aircraft ownership. It includes demand forecasting, asset allocation and inventory management, and will guarantee test station availability. The agreement is a performance-based contract, measured by cycle times and other factors. Work will be performed on the test systems at Honeywell facilities in Teterboro, N.J., and Minneapolis beginning this year.
"This new contract changes the support process for Honeywell avionics test stations and equipment," said Mike Underwood, director of Air Force Programs for Honeywell. "Honeywell offers a system management approach and will work closely with the Air Force to transition from providing standard repairs to testing capability. Together with our depot partners, we will achieve the common goal of providing better support to the war fighter."
