LINKOPING, Sweden, 6 January 2005. IFS Applications has been selected by Lockheed Martin for local supply chain management on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program Autonomic Logistic Information System (ALIS).

Within the F-35 aircraft system design, ALIS is the information backbone that provides core functionality for in-service operations. As part of its ongoing objective to provide a lowest-cost supply chain management (SCM) service, the Lockheed Martin LM project team has decided to extend the IFS footprint in ALIS to cover both enterprise resource management (ERM) and SCM with one package-IFS Applications.

IFS Applications is now deeply involved in ALIS, having previously been selected for the management of support equipment in a separate selection exercise.

"This recent additional selection on the JSF program reinforces IFS Defense's position as a strategic supplier to Lockheed Martin, which has also chosen IFS Applications for the UK MOD JAMES project," said IFS Defense CEO Simon Dowler.

IFS Defense provides armed forces, government bodies, and defense contractors worldwide with a powerful combination of domain experience and component-based business applications. These applications provide global defense solutions combining best practice, domain expertise, market-proven commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, and structured implementation services. For all whole-life equipment support requirements, there is now one global organization that can help influence the design of equipment for supportability, plan for the support of that equipment through its lifecycle, and deliver component-based business applications that support evolution toward the extended enterprise and component-based product lifecycle support (PLCS).

IFS develops and supplies component-based business applications for medium and large enterprises and organizations. IFS Applications, which can be implemented step by step, is based on web and portal technology. The solution offers 60+ enterprise application components used in manufacturing, supply chain management, customer relationship management, service provision, financials, product development, maintenance and human resource administration. IFS offers customers an easier, more open alternative.
IFS is a leading global business applications supplier with sales in 45 countries and more than 350,000 users worldwide. The company is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. For more information, see www.ifsworld.com.
